If I had to learn Frontend all over again

I have the fortune after 2 years of Freelancing as an AI Frontend Architect to be making a 6 figure salary from Spain. If I had to start all over, this is what I would learn.

  1. The platform first. HTML, CSS and JavaScript, no framework. I learnt AngularJS, then React, then Vue.
  2. Testing, from day one. I've always felt so good when my tests go green, because it means I can change anything without fear. And they tell you, early and for free, when your design is wrong.
  3. Architecture, earlier than you think. Use cases, repositories, dependency injection. Why so early? Well, AI writes code faster than any of us, so the structure around the code is where your value lives now.
  4. AI, with intention. Use it to understand faster, never to skip understanding. We need to be intentional and for learning how to code, I'm afraid you actually need to code.

If your code is hard to test it means that your code is not flexible enough.

The funny part? I learnt none of it in that order. I dropped out of college, did design in Photoshop, and wrote my first JavaScript just to add some animations to a website.

I told the whole story in a post, with GIFs of the projects I built back then (and an Arkanoid from 2016 that you can play right in the post):

And you, what would you learn first if you started today?
